Measures for the employee against slipping and tripping

Before you begin

• Examine the working environment for obstacles and slippery surfaces.
• Ensure the workplace is freely accessible. 
• Ensure the workplace is clean and tidy.
• Ensure that the workplace has adequate lighting.
• Wear footwear which is suitable for the work and the work environment.

During the work

• Remove waste regularly so that it does not accumulate.
• Mark out any floor openings immediately.
• Report uneven walkways and corridors to the person responsible.
• Mark out slippery surfaces.
• Clean up spilled products immediately using an effective cleaning method.

When the work is finished

• Leave the work environment clean and tidy.
• Seal floor openings.
